Astronomy Delight! offers a variety of interesting, entertaining and uniquely educational after-school, classroom, assembly, PTA, enrichment and grade level programs for all ages from pre-school through high school. and combine a variety of story, lore, and environmental awareness subjects throughout each program*.

Topics, demonstrations, and experiments incorporated into our school programs are based upon numerous years of actual real life astronomy experience, and the opinion survey responses received from parents, teachers, professionals, families, and children themselves who have participated in our school programs, scout events, star parties, and related offerings. Many of whom are "alumni" of our extremely popular eight week nighttime observation course "Observational Astronomy for Children (and parents too!) which has been given over the years since 1983 throughout local communities, and those who are alumni of our other observation orientated astronomy courses.

Every program is custom designed to The level of participating children based upon your children’s needs and is given in an informal, non-technical approach to ensure maximum understanding of the unique concepts presented. Humorous interactive discussions and presentations, (at times given by a fully uniformed "Star-Trek" officer, "Alien" or "Einstein" himself) combined with fun student role-play when necessary, encourage the asking of questions and cultivate the growth of young imaginations. All programs allow the participants to see and understand how real astronomical telescopes are used by astronomers to observe celestial objects.

Reservations are required as early as possible.

Dates are allocated on a FIRST COME - FIRST RESERVED basis. However,

SCHEDULING PRIORITY and DISCOUNTS
are given to schools scheduling programs on the SAME DAY, at the SAME LOCATION, or those schools who "BLOCK BOOK" within their districts or area.
(E.G., AM and PM program, or several schools within same district or area)

RESERVATIONS CAN BE MADE AT ANYTIME BY CALLING THE ASTRONOMY DELIGHT! LOCATION NEAREST YOU.

Astronomy Delight! provides all telescopes and materials to ensure a successful and entertaining program experience for all participants.

Professional astronomical instruments and accessories are used during the programs and may require a short period (15 - 30 min depending on program.) of classroom setup time and assembly. Please schedule accordingly.

Adult supervision of the participants at all times is required, especially during nighttime observation sessions for reasons of safety.

Please note that in the event of a *School nighttime observation session significant preparation and celestial object location calculations by Astronomy Delight! are sometimes required. We need to know as soon as possible after booking a bit about your schools observation location. (trees, horizon view, electrical hook-ups, if lights can be turned-off Etc.)

(mother nature does not cooperate)

Schools that book full day programs, plus nighttime observing programs, which cannot be completed due to

inadequate observing conditions will have the observation portions rescheduled at a mutually agreed upon date with Astronomy Delight!
